From tomorrow, Tuesday 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 18 New Forest Pony Stallions will be turned out for 𝟴 𝘁𝗼 𝟵 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀. They may remain on the Forest until Monday 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆.

🎥 In this clip Agister Robert Maton is seen releasing his stallion Mallards Wood Law and Order last year at Ashurst.

⚠️ 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗔 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗝𝗢𝗕 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗢 - Please try to avoid their areas and 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. They are essential for the future of the breed.

Good News 🎉 💁 At the start of the year we

Good News 🎉

💁 At the start of the year we placed our salt licks along Roger Penny Way (A road infamous for animal accidents).

🤔 Ponies love to lick the salt off the road spread by gritting lorries, meaning that in winter they can be attracted to the roads.

📆 Last year was the first year of trialing the licks and it was deemed a success, with fewer animals involved in road accidents in the time they were out!!

↔️ The salt licks are placed well back from the road (130 meters aprox) and will stay there through the winter months.

🐴 Ponies are creatures of habit, the salt licks will draw some animals away from the road, but many will continue with their old ways.

⚠️ It is always important to remember to #expecttheunexpected and please #drivetotheconditions.
